The Artist In The Ambulance (Instrumental Promo CD) by Thrice

General · September 10, 2014

Some of you might know that American post-hardcore/rock band from Irvine, California, Thrice are my all time favourite band. I have seen them every time they’ve visited Australia before they went on hiatus.

Today, my latest and quite possibly most prized addition to my Thrice music collection arrived, a rare and very hard to find promo copy of The Artist In The Ambulance in instrumental form. This was one hard CD to track down, but I found it and bought it for a steal as well. I would have paid way more than I did for this just to have it, but I am glad I didn’t.

This is Thrice’s most known album release from 2003 for Island Records. Every single track is there from the album in instrumental form. It was already one of my favourite albums by the guys, but hearing it in instrumental form makes it feel like I am listening to a new album by Thrice.

I’ve been wanting to hear this CD ever since I heard of its existence a while ago, but it can’t be found anywhere online. I am debating whether or not I should rip this and put it online for all Thrice fans to enjoy or keep it for myself knowing that only a small amount of people have actually heard this amazing promo release.

See below for some crappy quick photos I took:

That’s awesome man. Can I ask where you got it and how much you paid for it? It’s not even listed on Discogs and it’s out of stock on all the other sites I’ve looked at.
If you do feel like ripping the CD, please let me know where you upload them.

Andrew.

Of course man. I got it on Amazon and I only paid $30 for it, had to pay like $15 for postage to Australia though, but shit, I would have paid way more for this. This CD doesn’t seem to exist anywhere, not even a single Youtube video. I might rip it and put it online shortly I think. Probably too good to not share with fellow Thrice fans.

Wow Dwayne! This is truly a diamond-like possession you have, and as a MAJOR Thrice fan, I’d kill to obtain ripped audio files from this CD. Please let me know if you decide to rip this album as this would be the best day of my life LOL – [myvoiceis@live.com] Hoo roo and thanks for your consideration mate!

Don’t worry mate, I am going to rip this shortly when I have a spare few minutes. I’ll rip it in Flac format so everyone can hear it as originally intended.

[…] Throughout the years I have bought every single release they’ve put out, even the expensive limited vinyl releases, merch, my closet is basically a Thrice shrine (minus the candles and creepy statues). For the hard to get items, I have even paid way above what they were at retail just to complete my collection. I own one of the only copies I am aware of The Artist In The Ambulance (instrumental).
