HELYON Support
HELYON is a free, unofficial mobile editor for the Helix Stadium and Helix Stadium XL. If something goes wrong, email dwaynecharrington@gmail.com or open a GitHub issue.
Include your phone or tablet model, its operating system version, your Stadium model and firmware version, whether you’re using USB or Wi-Fi, and what happened. A screenshot helps with display problems. GitHub issues are public, so don’t include private preset notes or device addresses.
Connecting over Wi-Fi
Put your phone or tablet and Stadium on the same Wi-Fi network, and enable Remote Access on the Stadium. Enter its device name or IP address in HELYON, then tap Connect. Allow Local Network access if prompted.
If it can’t find the device, check the address and the Local Network permission in your phone or tablet’s settings. Guest networks can prevent devices from communicating. Try your normal home network before troubleshooting on a venue network.
Connecting over USB
USB editing requires Stadium firmware 1.4 or later, a data cable, and a phone or tablet that supports the Stadium’s USB network connection. Keep Remote Access enabled. A charging-only cable won’t work.
On iPhone and iPad, the operating system chooses the route to the device address. Selecting USB in HELYON doesn’t force the connection through the cable. Turn Wi-Fi off when checking cable-only operation. Android USB support varies by device. A USB-C port alone doesn’t confirm compatibility.
If a connection drops, reconnect the cable or Wi-Fi and reconnect in HELYON. Check the Stadium before saving to confirm which edits it accepted.
Editing and the DSP option
Back up important presets and start with a spare preset. Live edits change your connected Stadium. The DSP meters use estimates from model information, not measured CPU load.
Extended DSP budget is in Settings under Advanced. It’s off by default and requires a warning confirmation. It raises the app’s estimated allowance from 66 to 82 per path for the current connection. It doesn’t add processing power: the device may reject edits, audio may drop out, or the device may become unstable. Disconnecting restores the normal budget. Turning the option off doesn’t remove blocks you’ve already added.
Trying HELYON without hardware
Choose Try offline preview on the connection screen to add and remove sample blocks, adjust parameters, and bypass effects. No device is connected and no audio is produced. Preview edits are discarded when you leave. Preset libraries, device saves, snapshots, and routing require connected hardware.
HELYON doesn’t support the original Helix Floor, Rack, LT, HX Stomp, or HX Effects.
You don’t need an account. The app saves your control preference locally. The privacy policy explains what is stored and how to request deletion of support messages.
