A few months ago I came across a site called Learnsauce. The premise is simple, they offer you source code and learning material for building a few clone applications like; A Soundcloud clone, Uber clone, Buzzfeed clone, Tinder clone and a few others.
They also provide tutorials for web applications as well as doing things with Android and iOS modules.
For a good while they were offering all of their site content for a monthly fee. I got a few awesome apps and learned a couple of things. But then recently that all changed when they started deceiving customers.
As can be seen below they advertise you get access to everything for $9 per month. Sounds great, right? There is a catch. After you pay and go into your account area you see various content you can get, but a lot of it is only available for premium members.
But, I just paid $9 for a month you say? Paying month-by-month does not make you a premium member. Premium members are only those who pay for a full year upfront of $99 (saving $9). This is the only way to become a premium member.
Take a look at the screenshots below of a large selection of the catalogue. Notice the absence of available content for non-premium users? Disgusting to say the least and VERY dishonest.
Lets ignore the blatant misspelling of unlimited and blatant disregard for grammar with those incorrectly capitalised words for a moment and focus on the real issue here:
So as you can see if you choose to pay $9 per month, you really get nothing. Now don’t get me wrong, the content you get is awesome. I mean you’re getting full source code to do what you want with.
The fact is they’re deliberately being dishonest, getting people to pay $9 per month only for members to login and see they need to pay for a whole year to get all content.
Just when you thought Learnsauce could not get dishonest enough, they have a page called, “Why Premium” in which they stake their case.
They outright lie on the first line of text, “The truth is: There is NO difference between the DELUXE & PREMIUM memership!” – based on those screenshots above, would you agree there is no difference?
They can’t even spell membership correctly. They also claim to give you a discount of $9, thinking that you’re a moron. You paid $9 already for your first month, when you upgrade to premium you don’t get this back. So you’re not saving anything, that supposed $9 saving is not real.
Then it deepens. See those “Uber for X” scripts you can get? They’re all the same code essentially. While it appears as though you get all of this great content, those Uber clone scripts are actually the same code just repurposed a little bit to appear as though it is something entirely different.
The code quality is decent and you’re saving a tonne of time and money, BUT… Learnsauce has shown they’re dishonest in how they operate. If you’re considering signing up, pay for the premium upfront at a cost of $99 or don’t bother paying month-to-month because you get nothing.
I would honestly avoid Learnsauce altogether, but that is just my opinion. If they’re willing to lie and deceive you into upgrading to premium, what else are they willing to lie to you about?
LearnSauce, Provenlogic, AppDupe, etc. are all owned by the same person and they are based in India which explains those typos. Interestingly, they try to hide this fact. Last june, I asked LearnSauce why Flamer was much cheaper than what Provenlogic offers although we also get the tutorials and someone called “Ted” (I’m pretty sure it wasn’t even his real name) answered:
“LearnSauce bought the script from provenlogic and wrote tutorials on it. We paid provenlogic a huge sum as license fee to sell their product. ”
So, Provenlogic offers one application for about $200-300 and LearnSauce offers that plus everything else (without the setup) for just $9? We also get the tutorials? That made no sense. Also, their web designs were almost identical to each other and some digging showed that they were both based in India. A month later, I asked Provenlogic about the relation between them and LearnSauce and they implicitly accepted that they are the same company indeed.
That huge price difference seemed suspicious and I didn’t pay LearnSauce any money. Thanks to you, now I know what really happens once we pay that $9.
after purchasing the Premium membership, i found that Uber Clone was an old version of eclipse which is different from all free items i downloaded before which was mostly Andriod Studio scripts.
The membership become useless to me and have no value. I let them know that it needed to be canceled for that reason. The never refund my money even when they keep saying “I’ve put forward your refund request to the Payment team” which is signed by fake name “TED”. I raised a dispute case against them on Paypal and on visa credit card as well..
Did you get a refund?
i got burned too. the files i download did not have any sql filles so it was all junk. when i asked about sql told that i had to buy source code. decided not to going to raised a dispute case against them on Paypal and on visa credit card as well.. and ask everyone else to do so and help to shut them down
DO you have any recommendations for finding app scripts like learnsauce which now seems to have morphed into “scriptmode” or something like that
1. Gentle Ninja
2. Mowares
3. Appjasmine
4. Appdupe
5. Learnsauce
6. Scriptmode
7.Ecommercemix
These companies are all the same despite the name changes and you should stay well away from them. If you buy a script from them it will be full of problems. A simple installation will take weeks of ups and downs because the scripts are full of problems.
After purchasing 3 on demand apps and other scripts…trust me we know what we are talking about.
They are only there to take your money and then disappear only to resurface under a different name and the excuse..”new management”
They need to be closed down because they are simply “CROOKS”!
